Cream cakes

Fridays..ahhh dont you just love them! Its ALMOST the weekend and everyone is so relaxed at the office..and everything can wait till Monday

My boss got us these today....Strawberry scones and chocolate eclairs..Mmm...managed to snap a quick photo before everything was finished (ok - one of the boxes was empty already though!)

My boss is an avid fan of food from Marks & Spencer (i.e. he gets his daily lunch from there). i dont know about the sandwiches and salads, but their desserts are delicious.. try the cherry tarts or the white chocolate chip cookie from the fresh bakery section...Mmmmmmmmm

Happy weekend all!

Vintage cupcake toppers

I was on the internet searching for cake decorating courses and came across one website that was advertising their vintage cupcake class...interesting! However, i was also thinking of attending a mini cake decorating class.. decisions decisions....

I will try the "easier" of the two i.e. making vintage cupcake toppers.

This is my attempt at some vintage cupcake toppers..

Close-ups of a few of them..

As i was just making the toppers to try out the new equipment i purchased i.e. fondant cutter, i used fondant icing which i had in my pantry. As a result, i think it was abit dry (as evident from the photos). I am overall happy with the patterns i created (albeit i need to use the right sized cutters).. Hence, i have decided that i will go for my mini cake decorating course.

Full moon party

We were invited to our friends' baby's full moon party i.e. their baby just turned 1 month. It was held at Royal China in Canary Wharf http://www2.royalchinagroup.biz/. They dont take reservations on Sundays so we were all told to show up promptly at 12pm.

The little baby was just cuddled up in his mother's arms for most of the time sleeping, whilst the adults enjoyed the dim sum..yum yum

The baby's grandma (a keen baker) also made cupcakes for everyone... so cute!
It was chocolate cupcakes, with a "duck" topping..  was nice and moist.
